SYMPOSION takes shape from seven blocks of Arabescato Fantastico marble, among the last available of this quality. These fragments originate from an exceptional project carried out by Les Marbreries de la Seine for a suite at the Hôtel Crillon, designed by Karl Lagerfeld and Aline Asmar d’Amman. Set aside at the end of this commission, the marble retains the memory of a place, a gaze and a precise architectural context. SYMPOSION extends this existing narrative, offering a new reading of a material already inscribed with history.
This project was developed without preliminary drawings, through a direct dialogue with stone and craftsmanship. The conversation daybed, sculptural chair and floor lamp were crafted by Les Marbreries de la Seine, and further shaped through the encounter of rarely associated savoir-faire: Le Lit National signs the upholstered comfort of the seating, while the floor lamp combines marble with rattan crafted by Michèle Thomé and washi paper by Fabien Ifirès.
The presentation of the pieces unfolded in dialogue with works by Eberhard Ross, kindly loaned by Galerie Amélie du Chalard, extending the reflection on material, fragment and memory.
