Cornette de Saint-Cyr

The private mansion of the auction house Cornette de Saint-Cyr, located at 6 avenue Hoche in the very Proustian 8th arrondissement of Paris, hosted the exhibition Les Assises du Temps Perdu. Eight seating pieces appear to engage in dialogue from atop their plinths. The scenography invites visitors to encounter these chair-characters, accompanied by quotations from the novel. This sumptuous setting evokes Marcel Proust’s youth in the family apartment nearby, facing Parc Monceau, where one can easily imagine the protagonists strolling along its paths.
